Dr. Grace Owens
Board Certified Optometrist
Dr. Owens grew up in Franklin County and graduated from the University of Alabama in Huntsville, Summa Cum Laude. She then attended the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, where she graduated in May 2025 as Valedictorian.
Dr. Owens' love for Optometry started at an early age. When asked why she chose Optometry, Dr. Owens said, "I started wearing glasses at age two and needed to wear an eye patch for a year as well. I always loved my trips to the eye doctor when I was a child, and I knew from a very young age that Optometry was the career I wanted to pursue."
While in college, the doctors at the Eye Care Center allowed Dr. Owens to shadow them to gain insight into the day-to-day operation of the eye care profession.
"During those visits I observed everyone's professionalism, and I was impressed with the Eye Care Center's facility and technology. I also observed, first-hand, the doctors' commitment to providing excellent healthcare to their patients," said Dr. Owens.
"As a local person and as someone who has shadowed in our office, Dr. Owens was a natural fit for starting her practice of fitting contact lenses, treating eye diseases, and managing post-operative surgeries," said Hunter Norris, MD.
